WELD ENGINEER
We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as Weld Engineer. The successful candidate will be the technical expert regarding welding procedures, processes, clamping, holding, weld sequences and all other activities related to and affecting the type of weld, flatness, quality and integrity of welds on stainless steel housings, assemblies and Gloveboxes.


Tasks and Responsibilities
• Develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures used for the project
• Establish weld procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex post-heating requirements.
• Performing in-process inspections to ensure workers compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements
• Inspect and monitor welding activities, ensuring technical integrity and quality through welding discipline requirements and best practices
• Preparation of weld maps
• Provide expertise on clamping, holding, fixturing, and weld sequencing in order to minimize distortion
• Provide the main source of welding expertise
• Provide input to all quality and inspection of test plans
• Monitor, and improve welding work and maintenance
• Investigate area of concerns


Requirements:

Skills Required
• Provide technical leadership related to welding
• Ability to analyze complex design, manufacturing and assembly problems to determine root cause with an effective strategy to eliminate the problems
• Ability to motivate people to maintain high standards and ensure successful projects
• High level of organization, coordination and planning
• Trustworthy, autonomous, flexible, team player, confident and proactive
• Solutions-driven individual who is highly motivated and a self-starter
• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Education and Experience Required
• Bachelor in Welding Engineering or relevant / equivalent field experience, with relevant Welding qualification & certification, including Mig & Tig welding methods, and UT / RT weld inspections.
• 5-7 years of practical experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Must be familiar with Welding Codes and Standards including AWS Codes
• Project Management experience desired
